Sarah has a thing for animals and as such, our initial plan was for me and jerry to bring her to the zoo on her birthday while Arch attends infant care. However, due to jerry recent leave due to our project and his bout of fever/cough which led to 2 days away from work (MC), we shelved the trip and got it planned for 9 Dec instead (when Sarah school closes). We decided to let Sarah spend her actual birthday in her school.
On the eve of her birthday, Aunt Jen suggested to bring her out to have fun. We decided to bring her to Go-Go Bambini at Dempsey Road which operates at 10am. Needless to says, there we were at Membina early in the morning again. Hee... poor Aunt Jen always have to wake up early to 'entertain' the princess who starts her days early. Here she is playing with the hat and the horse the moment she entered the house.
Filled her cart with lots of stuff again and asked to go out.
Aunt Jen being the ever doting Aunt persuaded me to let go out with the cart. Whenever we go home from Membina, Jerry will usually drive the vehicle over to the block and I will always tell her to be good and wait for papa. Thus when we reached the void deck, she immediately walked towards the waiting point, made the waiting hand sign and told me "wait papa. k?"This chair is her usual waiting point. Oh no! She innocently thought papa was coming. Our heart ached when we saw her keep looking out for jerry. When i told her papa is working and we are not waiting for him, she hung her head down sadly and pouted.
Thank goodness Aunt Jen got her distracted by asking her to pose with her trolley. In no time, she was full of smiles again.
We quickly detour back to the house to prepare going out. OMG! We nearly had a hard time getting Sarah out of the house alone. She thought she could bring the cart along again. This time we distracted her by asking her to help throw rubbish in the chute outside the house. We had invited Epi to go out with us and our first destination was Japan Home in TBP as i forgot to bring Sarah's scissors for cutting food and had to buy one in case as lunch venue was not decided yet.
We walked pass the MRT station and while waiting for Aunt Jen to withdraw money, Sarah kept pestering me to take the train. She remembered we took the train with Aunt Jen previously and knowing that i did look like i was going to bring her to take the train, she rushed to Aunt Jen and said "take train" while holding her leg wanting Aunt Jen to carry her. We had intended to take taxi all the way as we were not sure of Bambini's location but Aunt Jen wanting to fulfill all the simple requests of this girl suggested we take the train and stop somewhere to take a taxi. Ok, a good plan. But first we had to distract her to go to Japan Home first......
I think she enjoyed the short little trip to Japan Home. We end up grabbing a pair of scissors, a soft toy and 2 sets of "stuckers" (sarah's way of saying stickers). She is into stickers of late as from our understanding, she gets a sticker pasted on her blouse in school for singing songs. Aunt Jen, Epi and me had to stand outside the shop for a good 10mins whilst she took out sticker by sticker to paste on her blouse.
Got her moving to the bakery where she attempted to pick some buns on the tray herself. We had to stop again as she wanted more stickers. Check out her blouse!
She decided to give each one of us a sticker too. Sweet : )One for Aunt Jen.....
One for Epi.....
Here is Mimi's sticker......The biggest sticker which we were all hoping Sarah won't paste on us. We disturbed Epi and got it pasted on her back. We showed Sarah who was immediately thrilled.
Made our way back to the control station. Aunt Jen carried Sarah and gave her the EZ-link card. To my surprise Sarah knew how to tap the card all by herself.
She gave a stunned look as the train got out of the tunnel as we headed towards Redhill station
Even more stunned when we alighted at Commonwealth where she got to see the close up of the entire train with its loud engines. This is our friendly taxi driver who sent us to Dempsey. Sarah was chatty throughout the journey to him and gave him the huge sticker. She pasted it on her sleeve whilst he was still driving. I think he liked her too i think. He said Sarah is not noisy and it is good that she is not quiet. Haha....
When we were about to alight, he still made conversation with Sarah and even gave her 'face' by sticking the sticker on the window pane right in front of him!
Go Go Bambini, here we come!
Place was already filled with children. I doubt i will ever come on weekends or public holidays! It was a little chaotic as we were trying to get my membership for Bambini registered, trying to put on socks for sarah and ourselves as the little girl struggled wanting to quickly explore the playground. The fearless and energetic girl just went crawling, climbing away very swiftly non stop, barely even turning her head back to check if we were following her.
Up the slide...
Down the slide...Through the shaky tunnel....
The look of accomplishment at the end of the shaky tunnel. As it was partially netted, she attempted to turn backwards a few times but convinced herself to go through it to the end. Great sportsmanship little girl! :)
Down the "steps"
A quick pose with Mimi....and another....
Aunt Jen was the camera woman at the playground. It must have been tough chasing us in the obstacle course whilst trying to snap good shots. It was hard to get Sarah to stop and smile for the camera too. She did not have the patience to wait for us to click the button and kept looking away to decide which path to take next.In the toy car.....
She sure looks like a toddler already in this picture....
See what i told you. Look at her frowny and impatient face. She must be wishing we would stop asking her to pose. Lol...In the pool of balls bouncing and camouflaging herself....
Climbing the wall....
Close to 2 hours later, she indicated her tiredness to us by asking us to take off her socks. We washed her hands, paid the fees and scouted around dempsey for a good lunch venue. We settled for Dome. The weather was scorching hot so we immediately requested for indoor seating.
Sarah got her first taste of strawberry smoothie in a bowl. She whacked nearly half my glass! We had to hide it on an empty chair when she was not looking as she kept making noise for more.
I must say they have excellent service. The waiters and waitress were full of smiles and they even prepared water in a plastic cup with a straw for the little girl. Here she is clicking her plastic cup with Epi. Cheers!
3 of us decided to order a few dishes and share so that we have more variety. We had a mixed combo platter of calamari, prawns and wedges. The prawns were the yummiest. It was soft and tasty.
It was no surprise that Sarah eyed the tartar sauce and had a good whole helping of it! Haha....
Beef lasagna ordered by me!! This is one of my favourite food. I always recall the yummy lasagna made by my mum.
One of the friendly waiter who served us. He played with Sarah most quietly by winking at her and making cute faces to make her smile. We just had to take a pic of them together for remembrance.
The mess made by Sarah. I think it is a good improvement compared to a few months back whereby food "droppings" beneath the floor where Sarah sits would have tripled!
Don't worry, she is not biting a rubber band. it is actually a long strand of carrot. Wonder how they got it shredded so long. On our plate, it was appeared as a coil.
Soon, the princess was full and ventured to the next table. She got herself seated on this huge, grand chair, grabbed a huge magazine and started flipping the pages away. Sure looks like some towkay to me.
Girl power!
This picture is taken outside Dome whilst waiting for our taxi to arrive. It was past her naptime and she was getting cranky disturbing me happily!
Another great day except that we forgot to sing her a birthday song but it is ok. I am sure she had a great day. Thanks Epi and Aunt Jen for taking time off to be with us!
