Bei at 35 weeks

We are in the final month now, Bei will reach 35 weeks tomorrow.

Today's scan shows that he has grown to 2.28kg. The growth rate has not increased as much as in week 28-31, but the weight gain remains satisfactory. Dr Fong told us not to expect a big baby as Sarah was delivered at 2.44kg.

Bei at 31 weeks

From the ultra scan taken at the lastest session with Dr Fong, Bei's weight has grown to 1.98kg!

Mama is experiencing severe back pain due to the pregnancy, Dr Fong believes that she might have pulled a back muscle.

Bei at 28 weeks

Took a scan today, he has grown to 1.1kg! His facial structures, such as his nose, can be seen clearly now. He is very active today unlike the previous scan where he seems to be sleeping.

Bei at 24 weeks

Took a long while for us to capture a scan shot of him today. Did not manage to capture either a front or side view of him. But at least we can see that his spinal cord is developing well.

He is now 650 grams.

Gentialia: Male

Sarah is going to have a baby brother, his gender was confirmed after flo went for the detailed scan at TMC.

Actually we more or less know that this time its going to be a boy after the OSCAR scan about a month back. But at that time, his reproductive organs was not very defined and we only managed to catch a short glimpse of it. So we could not be 100% sure.

Mama asked Sarah on the morning of the scan, if she was going to have a 'didi' or 'meimei'. Normally she would go on babbling 'mei mei mei mei', this time she look like she was having a serious thought about it and she kept quiet.

Bei at 16 weeks

Went to see Dr Fong again, even though we were not supposed to see him for another 3 weeks. Mama was feeling terrible the whole morning, she was also worried about the lack of movement from bei.

Took another scan, Dr Fong said everything was fine. We should not be expecting foetus movement for another month! haha.

Bei at 15.5 weeks

Brought forward our appointment with Dr Fong by a week, as Mama Flo noticed some signs of spotting. We decided not to take any risk and so we went to seek consultation with Dr Fong. Luckily he said its nothing serious, probably due to fatique and strain as we have been taking care of Sarah for the last four days.

We were hoping to be able to confirm Bei's gender, however as he wasn't moving much and his posture was not ideal, we could not see his genitals. We will just have to wait for the detailed scan scheduled four weeks later.

Week 11.5 checkup

we have come to the end of first trimester, bei is now 5.09cm. from the ultrasound scan, we were able to see his legs and hands for the first time! very active, bouncing around all the time!

阿贝 at 10 weeks

this is the first blog entry dedicated to 阿贝 (ah bei).


阿贝 is currently ten weeks old. today's scan has shown that 阿贝 has grown to 30.5mm. Dr Fong seems to be very satfisfied with the growth since the last visit. 阿贝 hands have been formed as can be seen from the scan.

the term 阿贝 is coined by none other than the creative mama. as sarah is known as 阿宝 (ah bao)，she and 阿贝 will combine to become the dynamic 宝贝 (bao bei) duo.

Week 37 Check up

today, we had the longest appointment with dr fong. we were quite concerned when we learned that sarah had only picked up 100g over the past 2 weeks, bringing her weight to 2.5kg. its a tad light for a full term baby.

after dr fong heard from us that sarah has not been moving much for the past few days, he gave us a worried look and told us that it is not a good sign as sarah might not be receiving enough blood and nutrients via the placenta, thus she is not growing and moving much. dr fong then suggested conducting a fetal actocardiograph test. If the results confirms her inactiveness, sarah will be induced to birth as she has already reached full term.

Its a non-intrusive test to monitor sarah's movement, heartbeat and uterine contraction. upon hearing that, we were naturally worried about her while waiting to take the test and during the test, which takes 20mins. thankfully, her results are positive, her movements and heartbeats are still good! way to go sarah! dr fong told us not to worry about her weight, but to continue monitoring her movements. we are going back to see him again this coming monday. till then flo has to monitor sarah's kicking movements every morning.

We only have weeks!

we are out of months to countdown! into the weeks now, less than 4 weeks to go! thats very fast isnt it! before we know, we will become parents already! sarah has grown another 500grams to go up to 2.4kg.

took the furkids to botanic gardens yesterday afternoon for a walk, as we thought we wouldnt have much time to bring them out once sarah is here. the weather was unbearable, walked from the main gate, made a turn at the end of the swan lake and went home! managed to capture some nice pics of them despite the short duration at the garden. we ended our trip with a visit to the foodcourt for our 'must eat' seafood murtabak, sad to say the standard of the food has drop tremendously!

Text Twirl

flo is currently addicted to this text twirl game, an application found inside facebook. i kinda got her started when she saw me playing. after that, she's been hogging my pc every day and night! i must say she is getting very good at it! at least it distracts her away from the discomfort of pregnancy while she is so concentrated on the game.

Broadway Beng 3

was rewarded at the end of hectic hectic april by flo, she brought me to the comedy musical, Broadway Beng 3! its a pity we couldn't make the show on time, went in 10 mins late, and the spotlight was on us, having sebestian announcing our entrance, how embarrassing! our favourite segment was the part where he summarised and localised the sound of music into 10 hilarious mins. we are definitely coming back for the next show, the show was more hokkien than we expected though.

sarah was caught yawning in the second scan! the highlight was however, seeing her throwing a few punches at flo!

Week 33 - Visit to Dr Fong

Visited dr fong today, Sarah has gained 600grams in 3 weeks. She is now on par with the ideal weight for week 33, 1910 grams. HOORAY! well done girl!

during the ultrasound scan, dr fong commented that Sarah was yawning. will post picture of today's scan once i managed to digitise it.

flo is very relieve about Sarah's weight gain, she commented that i can no longer 'scold' her for Sarah being underweight!

Romeo junior

Romeo junior is borned on 18th April 2008 at 0458 hours! next will be sarah's turn! i wonder when will she choose to arrive? hopefully not later than the EDD or flo will get impatient and more grouchy than she already is!

Chilli time

tonight is chilli night! every friday night, chef flo will begin her preparation for her weekly dosage of sambal belachan chilli! it is based on Ana's receipe.




just a grand excuse to eat more sambal belachan!
