Sarah Yau goes to town

Yeah! My first shopping trip to town with Aunt Jen and Mimi! Poor didi is still sick and papa got to stay home to take care of him.
Sarah is always happy to go out but sometimes we have to find ways to lure her out of the house. This morning, i used my umbrella to do so. She happily held on to the strap all the way to the bus stop with me.
I wonder what she was thinking of doing when she suddenly shrugged her shoulders when i told her to smile for the camera.

Then she gave me a cheeky smile and said her favourite word "funny". Actually I am still amazed by how she knows the meaning of words, eg. "funny".

At the bus stop looking a little worn out after having fun crossing the overhead bridge, seeing cars move beneath her and shouting "car, car" almost non stop.

cheeky as usual.

happy that she got a seat in the bus whilst I stand in front of her. It is only from photographs that I realised how much she has grown so quickly. She looks like a big girl here.

Met Aunt Jen. Our intention was to go Tangs but it only opens at 11am. Thus we decided to walk around as well as grab some snack. Stopped by Dunkin Donuts at Ion. Sarah got all so excited when she saw the window of donuts. She caught her eyes on the happy face one and kept saying "happy happy" and told us she wanted this happy donut.

She was very pleased to take pictures with her happy faced donut

Papa loves this picture of his cheeky princess. He say she looks candidly cute and funny in this picture.

She likes to imitate me a lot at home in terms of actions and repeating things I say. Whilst eating her donut, she started imitating whatever Aunt Jen did or say. It was really a funny sight.

Imitating Aunt Jen pointing finger...

Imitating Aunt Jen covering her mouth with her hands.....

We left the cafe to do some window shopping Ion still trying to kill time. An arch of balloons caught Miss Sarah's attention and she started throwing tantrums as she wanted one. Unfortunately, the salesgirl said there were no more when i approached her to ask if they have a spare loose balloon for Sarah.

Finally, I had to grab the wailing girl away from the shop telling her that we will go find a balloon to buy. Aunt Jen suggested Borders and so we walked towards Wheellock Place. We stopped by Marks and Spencer on the way as I wanted to check out some clothes for the kids. As I was browsing around, Aunt Jen and Sarah were playing "Peek-a-boo, I see you".

Peek a boo!

I see you!
What's that? Its Dora.... undies!!!!

She got all cranky again when I refused to let her have the packet of Dora printed undies. Once again, i carried a wailing girl out of the shop still telling her that i was going to buy a balloon for her.

Up the escalator to Borders

Sarah loves books and in no time, she got herself settled down near the entrance of borders as soon as she spotted many interesting books. Aunt Jen accompanied her whilst i went around the shop to check out for balloons.

I found out from the cashier that Borders do not sell balloons. However, they just had an event in the store yesterday whereby they decorated the place. She offered a black borders balloon when I told her my daughter is making noise for one. How sweet!

Excitedly, I carried the black balloon to look for them. I showed Sarah the balloon but she was more interested in the books and kept shuffling books to me asking me to read to her.

Carrying her 'loot' from Borders - one book of colours

Tested her to see if she recognizes alphabets and numbers. She had no problems with '4' and 'I' then she got bored and wandered away.

She shouted "car" when she saw this in Levis. There were some headless mannequin beside it. We din manage to take picture of it as we were laughing away when Sarah went close to the mannequin looking at it closely. She was wondering why there were no heads.

Finally, she remembered the balloon I got for her. She looks hysterical here! What happened was the balloon fell off the stick by accident and she found it funny. After fixing it back to the stick, she wanted to make it drop out again and so she got herself in different positions trying to swing the balloon hoping that it will fall off the stick again. Silly girl ya?

Mirror Mirror on the wall......

She is still quite apprehensive about crowds and started hugging to me tightly as we headed for Tangs.
It was just the beginning of the real shopping but we were really busy scouting around Tangs that we did not have time to take any more pictures. A very tiring but pretty fruitful day and of course another happy day.
