Deepavali 2010 (Part 1)

The Deepavali holiday falling on a friday gave us an extended weekend. So we ventured up north to the Woodlands Waterfront, a park still in construction with great views of the straits.

The skyline of the Johor Bahru city greeted us as we walked into the promenade.
The weather was perfect, the clouds had hidden Mr Sun, but the air quality was not that fantastic as can be seen from the hazy background.
大少爷 was enjoying his rare trip out in his sedan.
Ana helped us to take this portrait, was not easy to get the both of them to look into the camera.

Archie, these days, is fascinated by his sister's bubbly character, he is always trying to crawl or get to her whenever he spotted her around, with a cheeky grin.
Sarah felt that the waterfront was a great place to practice her vocals and work her lungs. She started singing and gesturing towards the sea as we were admiring the view.
The big playground at the park.
Sarah got excited as she entered the playground and was busy buzzing around trying out different play stations.
There's the obligatory visit to the slide.
Her first rock climbing attempt, not exactly graceful, but effective.
She must have worn her climbing shoes, she was climbing over everything that can be climbed, with a dogged determination to reach to the pinnacle of every climb. What an achiever!
The only way is up!
Her next target was a tad way over ambitious!
Nevertheless, she is a trier!
That's the highest we allowed her to go as her 'human' harness has reached his reach limit.
A satisfied climber and a proud mother.
Ice cream. The only way to drag her out of the playground.

PR-ing with the vendor, hoping to get into her good books scoops.
She sat on the kerb side and starting on it immediately.
Very happy with her ice cream, showing off her empty cup, not a drop to waste!
Being a good citizen, the empty cup was directed into the bin. After that we proceeded to our next venue.
Part II to come!
