29 October, the beginning of a very long day, we left home at 03:59:58 am. Surprised the kids were so cooperative, they got up without grumble when they normally can't wake up for school, but then again, if Disneyland fails to motivate them, then nothing will!
We made it to Terminal 2 easily, being wee hour, it was a breeze getting cab and there was no traffic. Archie with his forced smile in the below pic!Long queue at the check in counter, so gave them their 'bread'fast to keep them occupied. Both of them were actively volunteering to push the luggage bag.
We had some time to kill before boarding. This was taken at the departure lounge.
Once the plane took off, the kids knocked off.
Tired babies, very more tired parents.
Our first meal in Hong Kong, at a 茶餐廳 cafe located within 赤鱲角 (Chek Lap Kok) airport, 雞扒公仔面 (Chicken Chop with Instant Noodle), a very local cuisine.
The kids were hungry!
You can tell from the picture she has been fully re-charged!
My little 'helpers'.
We took a cab to our first destination, Hong Kong Disneyland.
You know Sarah has a TV addiction problem when you find her glued in front of the TV at Disney Hotel Lobby!
We were promised early check-in, but they were just So we
Pa purchasing the 八達通 Octopus Cards for our MTR travel.
At the Disney MTR station, which has a 'Fantasia' theme.Waiting for our train to take us to 東涌.
等。。。
Inside the Mickey Mouse train that is taking us to Sunny Bay.
Sunny Bay Station, awaiting the Tung Chung bound train.
When they are nice to each other!
We reached Tung Chung after about 30 mins of travel. We bypassed the temptations of the Citygate Outlets and headed for the 昂坪 Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Station. It is a a visually spectacular 5.7km cable car journey, travelling between Tung Chung Town Centre and Ngong Ping on Lantau Island.
While waiting in the queue to get on the cable car, boy got bored.
Then girl got bored. 2 monkeys swinging on the bar.
Finally we reached the ticket counter, Archie watched with interest while Pa was enquiring which ticket to buy.
Departure Hall.
Off to Ngong Ping!
A rather smoggy day in Hong Kong, hence the poor visibility.
Tung Chung fades into the background.
The couple that shared our cabin took this for us.
Obviously, she has no vertigo issues.
Very high up and the wind was gaining strength, the cabin was swaying from the side to side!
Still cool as a cucumber despite the swaying. The wind came in from the vent below her feet, that's why her hair is flying.
With the giant Buddha in sight, it means we are approaching Ngong Ping.
It was windy on the hill top, Sarah had to pull her hood up, Archie wanted to pull his up, but couldn't find one attached to his jacket, he was quite upset over it.
Luckily the boat distracted him!
Yes, we are in 大嶼山 Lantau Island! She was busy rowing her boat.
Upgraded to a bigger boat.
The rotary club.
Back to the hood issue, he wanted a hood because he thought his hair was going to fly away! This is the first time in his life where he has experienced such strong winds. He is still fairly upset in the picture with Ma.
With the staff at Ngong Ping, he took this picture rather unwillingly.
He was quite disturbed by the look of the guy beside him. LOL!
The ice cream always work, smoothes his tension.
Sarah enjoyed her strawberry sorbet, which was so sour that none of us liked except her.
In this photo, she was angry and had a great of grievances as she felt that she had suffered injustice. She wanted to pose on Archie's side but was not allowed to, hence the long face.
Kids don't bear grudge for long. All was forgotten when we got back to Tung Chung. Monkeying around in Espirit's changing room while we were shopping at Citygate Outlet.
We finally made it back to the Hotel at about 9pm. What a long day!
The kids had salad, bought from Taste, for supper.
Disneyland tomorrow!
